Excerpt About Skandhas

Ego Tendencies
Buddhism regards ego as a collection of tendencies, "skandhas", which are taken by the mind to have continuity in space and time. Ego is then analyzed in terms of its constituent elements to show that it does not exist in any real way, and meditation practices are designed to lead the student toward an experience of the ephemeral nature of ego.
